All styli have a lifespan and even when taking the greatest care, will need exchanging regularly to maintain audio quality and avoid damaging your vinyl. With the introduction of the ATN3600LE, Audio-Technica is offering a new option for the SoundBurger AT-SB727/AT-SB2022, all variants of the AT-LP60/X and all variants of the AT-PL300, so vinyl lovers can continue to have an enduring and quality audio experience.
Two models, one choice? Here’s how to choose the right one
The conical ATN3600L has been the only option for a replacement stylus for the above-mentioned turntables so far. The ATN3600LC follows in the previous model’s steps with its conical diamond profile and is a direct replacement for the original stylus. If customers need a new stylus and want to stick with the familiar, favoured sound they are used to, this is the model to choose.
The ATN3600LE, however, is a new option for this range. Different to the LC stylus, it has an elliptical diamond profile, which can provide an enhanced audio experience. This is because the elliptical stylus is narrower and therefore can sit lower in the groove and access information that conical styli simply can’t reach. The increased contact area with the groove wall results in a higher frequency response and it is also less affected by surface scratches, which means less noise. The combination of these two elements will enhance the listening experience and potentially reveal new sounds to the listener. If customers are looking for a potential upgrade to listen to their favourite vinyl albums, the ATN3600LE is the way to go.
