Acoustic Energy is delighted to announce the launch of the brand-new Acoustic Energy active subwoofer – the AE Sub. Designed to complement and integrate seamlessly with both the 100 and 300 Series loudspeakers, the AE Sub offers prodigious bass performance in both hi-fi and home cinema installations.
Utilising a 250-watt (RMS) amplifier mated to a 12-inch, long-excursion, doped and stiffened pulp-fiber driver, the AE Sub reaches down to an earth-shaking 26Hz at -6dB. Its compact cabinet houses the amplifier and driver in an optimally tuned enclosure for fast, deep, and tuneful bass.
For the ultimate in installation flexibility, the AE Sub provides stereo line-level inputs, LFE input, and high-level speaker inputs. An adjustable low pass filter (40-180Hz), phase control (0-180°), and volume control allow for perfect integration with any loudspeaker and room. The AE Sub’s auto on/off feature detects an incoming signal and powers on automatically.
“We’re thrilled to launch the AE Sub to provide our customers the perfect companion for extending the bass performance of our loudspeakers,” said James Luce, Creative Director of Acoustic Energy. “Whether enjoying music or movies, the AE Sub delivers a visceral bass experience that has to be heard to be believed. This subwoofer upholds our commitment to high performance, high value products that make an emotional connection with listeners.”
The AE Sub is ideal for the modern home where controlled bass performance is required without compromising the living space. Supplied with sturdy carpet-piercing spikes and fitted with convenient rubber caps for use on hard flooring, the AE Sub has an SRP of £699 is and is available now in Black and White.
